CISA Secure by Design Alert (November 29, 2023): Manufacturers of devices with web-based management interfaces should protect these interfaces from malicious cyber activity. This includes not exposing management interfaces to the public internet by default, implementing strong authentication for management access, using encrypted communications (TLS), applying input validation, and following secure coding practices for all administrative functionality.
