Business M stores personal information about consumers on archived or backup systems. Business M receives a request to correct from a consumer, determines that the information is inaccurate, and makes the necessary corrections within its active system. Business M may delay compliance with the consumer’s request to correct with respect to data stored on the archived or backup system until the archived or backup system relating to the personal information at issue is restored to an active system or next accessed or used for a sale, disclosure, or commercial purpose.
